Merrill Aviation can immediately meet your requirements for Magnetic Particle and Liquid Penetrant inspection.

Qualifications: We have on staff an NDT Certified Level III with more than 38 years’ experience. We also have FAA Certified Airframe and Powerplant technicians and repairmen totaling more than 75 years’ experience.

Standards: Merrill Aviation’s NDT processes conform to current ASTM standards and limited ratings accepted by the FAA. All our equipment is certified and complies with all industry standards. All NDT certifications and FAA 8130s, if required, are supplied at no extra charge.

Customized: We can provide NDE services on individual components or on production lots. Our services are designed to reduce your inspection costs and assure optimum quality and minimum turnaround time.

On-Site Services: Merrill Aviation can come to your facility to perform Magnetic Particle and/or Liquid Penetrant inspection using our portable equipment.

Magnetic Particle Testing

An extremely sensitive nondestructive test method for ferrous metals, magnetic particle inspection can detect surface and slightly subsurface cracks and other discontinuities. Its sensitivity and productivity has made it an industry standard for 50 years.

Merrill Aviation’s Capabilities: We use Magnaflux equipment and materials to cover the conventional methods of direct, indirect and induced magnetization with stationary and portable equipment.

• Stationary equipment: Tests parts up to 15 inches in diameter and 10 feet long.
• Portable equipment: Test parts of any size.

Liquid Penetrant Testing

One of the oldest methods of NDT still in use, liquid penetrant testing can locate fine surface discontinuities on ferrous, nonferrous and nonmetallic materials.
